PTFA Information

Welcome to Green Oak Primary School PTFA

A PTFA (Parent Teacher Friends association) is a group of parents/carers, teaching and non-teaching staff that meet throughout the year to organise and carry out fundraising events.

Most PTFAs hold an annual general meeting in September where a committee is elected which usually consists of a Chair. Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity Officer as well as general committee members. By having your child attend Green Oak Primary you automatically become a member of the PTFA.

Our role is to encourage closer links between home and school. PTFAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.

The PTFA at Green Oak are a very enthusiastic group of parents with a great community spirit. We aim to be approachable and inclusive.

Our current PTFA have recently organised and carried out a very successful Christmas Fair, raising valuable funds for our children. In the Spring term we hope to organise a school disco, cake sale and Easter egg hunt including Easter bonnet/garden parade. We are also looking forward to planning our annual Summer Fair.

With the funds we raise, we intend to work alongside the teachers at Green Oak to assist with providing learning opportunities for the children as well as giving them lots of fun experiences. For example, we recently provided funds for the children to have a pantomime visit the school as well as supplying extra educational equipment such as tablets and a mud kitchen in the Early Years department.

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and can contact us directly at
